The Neighbourhood.

7th July 2020

Not far from our Studio in Parsons Green there's a great footpath along the river, and during lockdown, it has a been a regular favourite of ours for a walk and some sunshine.

Located just to the east of Hammersmith Bridge is JTP LLP’s Fulham Reach project, a residential-led mixed-use masterplan for St Georges. The scheme is a huge success, pulling together all aspects of architecture and placemaking. We love the material palette used throughout the development, the way the masterplan creates a series of connected public streets and the new riverside destination with beautiful landscaping and sculpture.

The scale of the open space is notable, and the detail integrated into the landscaping through planting, surface materials, raised beds and an abundance of benches, makes it an interesting, joyful and calm space to inhabit. The nod to the old warehouse and industrial architecture that previously dominated the River Thames shines through in the new architecture carefully developed by JTP, which feels at home, authentic and rich in narrative.

When it re-opens next month Sam's Riverside is also definitely worth a visit for a delicious lunch!
