Black Box Thinking by Matthew Syed.

Something that's true in every walk of life is that we all make mistakes, and things go wrong, but its not the mistake that matters it how we deal with it that counts.
Another truth in design development is that to create something truly great, we must be wiling to fail. Make decisions, get it wrong, and then learn from these to create something better. The more we iterate and learn from the initial failings of our design, the more progress and creativity we are able to unlock. Much like the creation of the cyclone hoover, where James Dyson developed 5,126 vacuums that didn’t work, before he finally realised his vision.
If you are invested in this as a value then Matthew Syed's book Black Box Thinking is a must. The book discusses how success can happen only when we confront our mistakes, learn from our own version of a black box, and create a climate where it’s safe to fail. The single greatest obstacle to progress is failing to learn from our mistakes. Only by redefining failure will we unleash progress, creativity and resilience.
