London Festival of Architecture goes digital.

5th June 2020

As a virtual event this month London Festival of Architecture is celebrating the topic of Power, so we thought we would share an article from this months RIBA Journal, which we loved, on the power of stone.

Steve Webb discusses the strengths, application, range and carbon foot print of stone, and so much of his article resonates with our direction and a number of our current studio projects.

You can find the article here: https://www.ribaj.com/intelligence/stone-as-a-structural-material-embodied-carbon-sustainability

We are working on an exciting renovation and extension to a listed building in Notting Hill, and have selected solid limestone reveals for the openings to the lower ground floor extension. Forming the structure both internally and externally, we've left the stone on show, adding an honesty and richness to the material form. Recently, we've also been working with a range of beautiful British stone and marbles on a number of bespoke furniture pieces - the material section on our website documents our recent trips to the quarry in NW Scotland.

If you’re looking for a low carbon, reusable material that is strong, robust and beautiful, stone is ready for a revival.
