Scotscape Group CPD.
8th April 2020
Whilst embracing our change in working habits, Scotscape Group kindly hosted a virtual CPD for the team on the subject of living walls.
We're looking to integrate these in future schemes for either residential or commercial projects, as aside from looking attractive, and reducing a building's carbon footprint, the benefits seem huge.
Introducing greenery can also;
- Reduce the heat island effect (where urban areas are substantially warmer than non-urban areas)
- Interior living walls can help remove VOCs from the air
- Exterior living walls can help trap matter
A beautiful, yet extreme, example of incorporating landscaping and greenery into architecture is Milan's Bosco Verticale by Italian Architect Stefano Boeri.
Wouldn't it be great if more cities started doing this to new developments?
